The Scottish Government, together with the Forestry Commission, have produced a report on the current status of Phytophthora species. Details are also available of the programme of control to be implemented from 2010. The Scottish Government's website gives more information:
Upland Solutions is a new project, being run by Scotland's Moorland Forum, which will find practical ways through the difficulties of managing land in the uplands. The project focuses on the Muirkirk area, in Ayrshire, and the Upper Findhorn catchment area, in Inverness-shire.
Workshops have been held in New Cumnock and Tomatin, when a wide range of people attended, all of whom had an interest in the local upland areas.
Those who attended were asked their individual and collective views on issues relating to Carbon, Upland Birds and Upland Economics. If you were unable to attend one of the workshops and would like to contribute your views, please select the relevant link below.
More information on the purpose of the project can be viewed here, in the form of a press release.
